Description
Made from 200 year old Reclaimed White Oak, these salt cellars have super tight, old growth rings and feature stunning medullary rays that radiate through the grain. This stock came from an old barn that was salvaged before being torn down to make way for a strip mall. The hinged lid, which pivots around a clipped and polished sixteen penny nail is resawed from the same piece to ensure a continuous grain pattern. The saw marks on the lid are left there intentionally to pay respect to the woods humble beginnings as the structural barn framing.
